I was reluctant to purchase this table, because of the price and the fact that it was an internet order, but after several months, I DID IT!I thought oh well, it's only a hundred dollars and you can always use it temporarily until you can afford something better.Must to my suprise, the table was beautiful and a very good buy. Prompt delivery, ease of assembly and decent quality of both the table and chairs gave me the satisfaction of making a good purchase.....however, the only negative is that the dining table finish is soft, so, it could leave minor scratches at times when bowls/plates/others with non-smooth finish are moved around......although, I must say, the scratches are not very obvious and don't take anything away from the beauty of this set......overall, a great purchase...and I recommend it highly...... I have only had this table for about a week, but it is already clear that it will be a great table for a long time to come.It is perfectly sized for my apartment.It is also extremely solid and won't move around at all when you put some weight on it.The only drawback of this table is that it is somewhat heavy; however, I would be surprised to find a table of this quality that is much lighter. The table itself is gorgeous.Highly polished, very substantial wood.This seller had the cheapest price by far that I could find on the internet for this table.Although the quality of the manufacturer is known as on the higher end, in light of the price, I thought this would be a cheaply made item and crossed my fingers that it would at least look presentable and serve it's purpose. On the contrary, the construction is first rate.The wood is first rate.The table looks much more expensive than what I paid.In fact, we purchased this table to replace a very large table we purchased at Macy's for over $1000.00 and the wood really looks very similar and construction is very similar as well! This set arrived quickly, within about a week of purchase.The boxes had been beat up pretty badly during transport, but surprisingly, everything inside was still intact with no noticeable damage.The set does require assembly, but was easy to put together.I finished assembly in less than an hour.The table itself is very sturdy and made of real wood.It looks like it's more expensive than it is.And the chairs look nice as well.I did see someone mention in another review that they thought the chairs were smaller than they looked.They're not huge chairs, but they are well proportioned to the table size.And I'm well over 6 ft tall, and I haven't had any issues with comfort. The only negative thing I have to talk about is the sturdiness of the chairs.The chairs seem to have a lot of give at the joints.I'm a fairly large guy (210 lbs), and at times, I've leaned back in one of these chairs and have felt like it was going to snap.Thankfully, nothing has happened...yet.
